The infrastructure opportunity
Why essential assets are becoming increasingly strategic.

Infrastructure has moved from a sleepy yield sleeve to a strategic allocation. Digital networks, energy systems and transport corridors now sit at the intersection of policy, technology and private capital.
The attraction is duration. Well-chosen assets can compound through cycles because demand is structural rather than discretionary. The risk is political, operational and technological — not merely interest-rate sensitivity dressed up as ‘real assets’.
Europe needs to rebuild and rewire. That is a multi-decade capital programme, not a theme of the quarter. Selectivity still applies: contracted cash flows, credible counterparties and a maintenance culture matter more than a fashionable sector label.
Our featured work in digital infrastructure is one expression of this view. The next decade will be built on capacity that is largely invisible — until it is missing.
