Europe’s industrial reset

Where capital is finding opportunity beyond traditional sectors.

Europe’s industrial base is being rewritten by energy prices, defence procurement, automation and the quiet relocation of supply chains. The map of opportunity no longer sits only in consumer brands and software multiples.

Specialised manufacturers, process businesses and industrial software firms — often still family-owned — are becoming the objects of serious private capital. Many do not look obvious. That is precisely the point.

The underwriting question is not whether Europe can compete with every global production node. It is whether a given franchise has a reason to exist in a more fragmented, more regulated, more energy-conscious continent — and whether capital can help it do so.

We spend more time in plants and workshops than on conference stages. The reset is happening on factory floors, in grid interconnection queues and in the succession plans of owners who built businesses for a different Europe.
